Our Furniture Brands

Gloster’s roots can be traced all the way back to West Africa in 1960, where a band of passionate entrepreneurs and furniture makers took the first steps on a long journey. By the early 1970’s, increased demand and access to plantation grown teak led us to move our factory to Indonesia. Today, the same passion, conviction and pride that launched the Gloster brand, continues to fuel our business. We may live in a different world than the one occupied by our founders, but one thing remains the same – we are furniture makers whose sole focus is to design and build the world’s finest outdoor furniture.

Kingsley Bate
British craftsmen of the 18th century discovered what their Eastern counterparts had known for centuries, that teak has qualities unlike any other wood. Its abilities to withstand the rigors of adverse climate, yet weather attractively, make it the ideal choice for outdoor furniture. We use only premium quality teak and precise mortise and tenon joinery in the construction of our furniture. And while our reputation was founded on teak, our furniture designs have expanded to incorporate the finest stainless steel, aluminum and all-weather wicker as well. This combination of quality material and craftsmanship provides you with exterior furnishings of exceptional style and durability.

Lloyd Flanders
In 1917, Marshall B. Lloyd patented a process of weaving cellulose strands into wicker fabric. Lloyd Flanders has advanced the original technology producing a continuous strand that will not burr, crack, or peel resulting in a consistently smooth weave. Each strand in the fabric’s wrap is constructed of twisted cellulose fibers immersed in glue to prevent unraveling. In the weft, the strands are reinforced with aluminum wire for added strength and form a flexible coating which provides additional protection from moisture. The wicker is then contoured over a sturdy aluminum frame and is completed with our special Durium finish ensuring years of use. This innovative manufacturing process allows Lloyd Flanders to produce wicker furniture that is both versatile and durable. Coupled with upscale design and stylish comfort, it has quickly become the most sought-after all weather wicker furniture available today.
