Their mission, of providing a clearing house for information, as well as for managing the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) process makes the USGBC uniquely qualified to aid homeowners, contractors and builders in facilitating energy efficient and environmentally friendly construction.

Connecticut Clean Energy Fund

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, a part of Connecticut Innovations, Inc., is the states information resource regarding renewable energy of all types. From Hydrogen Fuel Cells to Photovoltaics, as well as Solar Thermal and Geothermal, The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) is aiding communities, businesses and individuals by providing education regarding and incentives for renewable energy projects throughout the state!
Washington Supply is very grateful for a grant provided by the CCEF for our 14.5 kilowatt combined photovoltaic and solar thermal array. Thanks to the CCEF, we have been able to lower our CO2 emissions and our energy bills. It's without a doubt one of the best programs in the county supporting the creation of new jobs in alternative energy, as well as for educating the public on what works to help us all move towards energy independence.
Atlantis Energy Systems are manufacturing some of the most innovative Building Integrated Photovoltaic Products (BIPV) in the country. As well, their panels will be featured as the roofing material on the "Green" house being built on the display court at the Bejing 2008 Summer Olympics. The innovative BIPV SS6 (The SolarSlate) is on display here on the "Green" house in the main store, and the MegaSlate is installed as part of the 14.5 kW outside plant on one of our buildings.

Pioneer reclaims timber, siding and flooring from industrial structures throughout the northern United States. Washington Supply displays samples of their flooring, including Pine, Hickory, Elm, Oak and Maple recovered from structures. See how beautiful aged woods can be!
California Paints (not from California... it's a long story) have been creating great products since 1926. Their exterior house paints (2010 product line) have been recognized by Consumer Reports as their Number 1 pick! Check out their e-VISUALIZER™ color visualization system which allows one to imagine how different colors will look in different room settings, and when the user downloads the software, they can actually use it with their own home photographs! As well, Washington Supply features their "Elements®" Zero VOC paint line - the easiest to use and safest product on the market insofar as indoor air quality is concerned.

Washington Supply is proud to partner with Litchfield Hills Solar to provide alternative energy solutions to our customers. Both Ray Furse and James Laporta of Litchfield Hills Solar are located here in Northwest Connecticut, so configuring your project is simple and timely. Litchfield Hills Solar worked with Washington Supply on the design and installation of our own 14.5 kW Photovoltaic Plant that came on-line in January, 2010. Dawn Solar provides Solar Hot Water Systems which are integrated into building architecture without compromising design aesthetics. Dawn Solar believes it can help increase the adoption of solar energy systems through the advantages of structural integration into homes and commercial/industrial buildings. We here at Washington Supply have incorporated the Dawn Solar System into our new roof and photovoltaic display on our pine shed - all of which are up and operational and available for you to see. This system provides heat to our Outdoor Living center. A display of the Dawn Solar System is located in the "Green" house in our main retail store. We can provide customers with design and installation services for this invisible way to reduce your heating needs for hot water or radiant flooring.

Alan and Paul Ives have worked to create a new paradigm in applying finishes. They call it "PrepSafe", and the benefit is all for the consumer, as they minimize or eliminate dust created through the preparation work, and use Zero VOC paints which perform like traditional coatings, without the harmful off-gassing that comes as the paint cures.
