Lead Paint, the EPA and Contractors
On Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 and on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010, Washington Supply will sponsor classes on the Environmental Protection Agency's new "Renovation, Repair and Painting Rules".
The classes will take place in Byran Hall (The Washington, Connecticut Town Hall) in the Land Use Room (Lower Level).
All contractors (remodeling, plumbing, electrical, painting) who may work in structures built prior to 1978 that MAY be occupied by children are required to become certified on lead abatement procedures. The eight hour course will be taught by Chem-Scope, Inc. of North Haven, Connecticut. The course will involve both classroom work and hands-on training. Continental Breakfast, Lunch and afternoon snack will be provided. An exam will be given at the end of the course. Successful participants will be given certificates allowing them to then enroll with the EPA.
